Wildflower Art and Bird Houses

uses
The junior class were learning all about some wildflowers that were growing around the school. We collected some of these flowers and used them for inspiration for a painting.

This week we looked at some birds seen in Ireland such as the blackbird and robin. We talked about their different sizes and colours as well as the sound they make. Each child made their own bird feeder using recycled materials, peanut butter and bird seeds. The pupils were encouraged to observe the birds around their homes and around the school for the week. The children then designed their own birdhouses and birds using paper and colouring pencils.
