The Titanic

The Junior Room have been learning all about Titanic; the ship, the passengers, the unfortunate journey.

In Art Class, they drew their own Titanic Ships. They discussed warm and cold colours and learnt how they could mix colours like white and blue to create waves. They then painted a sunset and sea as a background for their ships.

They learnt that the length of the Titanic was 269 metres and used a trundle wheel to calculate this distance from the school. They marked the distance they walked from the school with chalk and were very surprised as to how far they actually walked. It really was a huge ship!

After the walk they played a fun game of Ship! Sea! Shore! Where they had to remember which side of the playground was the sea or shore. They had great fun and were exhausted pretending to climb the rope of a ship using their arms and legs.
