Drinks, Sugar and our Teeth

On Thursday the 22nd of January as part of our SESE programme the junior room were investigating the effects that drinks had on egg shells showing us which were bad for our teeth. We used water, orange juice, milk and coke . Each child were asked to predict what they taught would happen .

Our predictions were:

Water – The shell will be clean and will not crack.

Orange Juice- The egg shell will crack.

Milk- 3 children taught the egg shell will crack and 3 children said the egg shell will not crack.

Coke- The egg shell will crack into little pieces

The results

Water- The egg shell staged the same.

Orange juice– The egg shell cracked and changed colour.

Milk- The egg shell didn’t crack.

Coke – The egg shell changed colour.
