The school recently had a visit from the Gardaí. They talked about :

Personal Safety :

• Remember your Stay Safe classes
• Your parents should know where you are at all times
• Learn important phone numbers
• Don’t talk to strangers

Car Safety :

• Always wear your safety belt
• Use a booster seat properly
• Don’t distract the driver from driving

Farm Safety :

• When you are on a farm, the farmer must know where you are at all times
• Do not go near farm machinery
• Be very careful when the farmer is busy making silage
• Don’t go near the slurry pit

Internet Safety :

• Be very careful on the internet at all times
• Don’t give personal information over the internet
• Don’t communicate with people you don’t know on social sites

The Job of the Garda :

• The Gardai explained all about their job
• They showed the pupils the equipment they had brought with them today (stab vest, truncheon, pepper spray, hand cuffs, first aid kit, notebook and pen, radio station  etc)
