The afternoon finally arrived, it was time for the pupils to reveal their entrepreneur product: Handmade Easter egg decorations presented in handmade bunny boxes.
Firstly we all brought in eggs. We blew each egg by piercing the top of the egg carefully with a needle and then doing the same to the bottom of the egg. Then we washed the eggs with warm soapy water and left them to dry. After that we painted the eggs white, giving them 5-6 coats of paint, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next coat. In the end we had over 120 eggs to paint white, It was very important to let the eggs dry. Once they are ready you can decorate them.
We made trays of different characters like rabbits and chicks. We made some unusual eggs too, like dogs and lego men. Other eggs had daffodils, buttons, mini Easter eggs and coloured stars. A few eggs got cracked and we made little chick nests out of them . Then we attached a circular band of ribbon to the top of the egg and left it to dry. The pupils made Easter egg trees from storm damaged branches, to display the eggs. The pupils also cut out individual bunny boxes for each egg.
Then they were ready for this afternoon. They gave a very informative presentation off the whiteboard, explaining their entrepreneur journey this term. Then they invited everybody down to the main hall where they could buy their Easter egg decorations.
The afternoon was a great success and the eggs sold very quickly. We also had some Easter flower displays for sale donated by a parent in the school.
