We finished the school term with a “Christmas Get-Together”. We invited family and friends to join us. It started with the Junior Classes playing “Jingle bells” on the tin whistle. Then 2nd Class joined the Senior Room singing and playing 3 more tunes on the tin whistle.
This was followed by Aoife Conway a pupil from 6th class who gave us a fantastic solo performance playing her electric guitar and singing “Somewhere only we Know”.
Then all the pupils sung a collection of unusual Christmas songs, including “Child in a Manger Born”, “Rock around the Shops” and “The Animals in the Stable”.
After that, Santa came to visit. One of the songs sung for Santa was “Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful”, this was very appropriate because of the weather that morning. To end the morning everyone joined in a Christmas Sing-a-Long, singing old favourites including “Jingle Bells” and “Winter Wonderland” and I’m getting “Nuttin for Christmas”.
The school wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. School restarts on Monday 6th January 2014
The Christmas assembly was really fun!
We are luckier than we realise like last week we done the J.E.P and other schools don’t have an opportunity to do that and for Christmas Santa got us all books.
